1. A real email
When you sign up with email, Paire sends a confirmation link. Until you open it you cannot set up a profile. Disposable inbox services (the kind that create a throwaway address in seconds) are not accepted. Signing in with Google counts as confirmed.
2. A live selfie check
Before you can like or chat, Paire asks for a selfie doing a random pose, such as touching your nose or covering one eye. The pose changes every time and is uncommon, so an old photo can't be reused. Paire then checks:
- It's you in your photos. A face-matching model compares your selfie with every profile photo. Your first photo must clearly show you, and no photo may show someone else (group photos that include you are fine).
- It's live. The pose has to be visible, and photos of a screen or a printout are rejected.
- It's real. Profile photos that are obviously AI-generated or face-swapped are rejected.
- It's an adult. Paire is 18+ only.
The check usually takes under ten seconds. If it doesn't pass, Paire tells you why (for example "your first photo doesn't clearly show your face") so you can fix it.
What happens to your selfie
Your selfie is used only for the check and is discarded as soon as it ends; it is never stored. Paire keeps the result and copies of the checked profile photos. If you change your photos, or after 90 days, you'll be asked to verify again, so a badge always matches the current photos. Details are in our privacy policy.
What verification can't do
A verified badge means the person matches their photos. It doesn't tell you anything about their intentions. Keep chats on Paire until you're comfortable, meet in public, and tell a friend where you're going. Read our safety guide and common dating scams in India.
Reporting
Every profile and chat has report and block. Reports are reviewed, and profiles reported by several people are hidden while they are checked.
