Privacy Policy

Effective 13 October 2026. This policy explains what personal data the Paire app ("Paire", "we") collects, why, and the choices you have. Paire is operated by Hritik Chaudhary, [POSTAL ADDRESS].

1. Who can use Paire

Paire is only for adults aged 18 or older. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor is using Paire, report the profile in the app or email support@paire.in and we will remove it.

2. Data we collect

Paire AI and chat safety

• Matchmaking and writing help. Paire AI ranks profiles and explains why you might click using the interests, vibes, intentions and answers you share. When you ask for icebreakers or bio ideas, the relevant profile details are processed to write them. Where enabled, this uses Anthropic's Claude API or Google's Gemini models on Google Cloud Vertex AI as our service providers; under their commercial terms, neither uses this data to train its models.
• Chat safety. To protect members from scams, harassment, threats and underage users, messages are automatically checked when sent. Most messages pass without being stored anywhere beyond your chat. If a message looks risky (for example, asking for money or OTPs, abuse, threats, or someone saying they are under 18), the recipient sees a warning, visible only to them, and a copy of that message, with the reason, is kept for our moderators to review. These copies are deleted automatically after 12 months, including when the sender or recipient deletes their account in the meantime, so we can act on abuse and protect other members. Flagged messages may be double-checked by Claude to reduce false alarms. Repeated serious flags can lead to a profile being hidden while we review it; a message saying the sender is under 18 hides their profile at once, because Paire is for adults only. People only read messages that were flagged or reported.
• No automated decision permanently removes your account without human review. If your profile was hidden by mistake, you can ask us to review it by emailing support@paire.in.

Likes with a note: a short note you send with a like is shown to that person, screened by the same automated safety check as chat (notes with money requests, phone numbers, links or abuse are refused), and opens your chat if you match.

Privacy controls: incognito, private photos, notes-only likes and "I'll message first" are stored in your private settings and used only to decide who can see or contact you.

Garba Nights (during Navratri): if you pick the nights you're going to Garba or Dandiya (up to four), they are stored in your private settings and used to show you, in the Garba Nights edition, members near you who picked at least one of the same nights, and to show you to them. Other members only ever see how many nights you share, never which ones; the edition needs your approximate location. Once you match with someone going on the same night, it may be used to suggest an icebreaker about it. Change or clear your nights in Settings at any time, including after Navratri.

Sensitive information: religion is optional and shown only if you add it; we never use it to filter or rank you. Your gender and the genders you want to see may reveal your sexual orientation. We use this only to match you, never show your preferences on your profile, and never sell it.

3. How your data is shared

• Other members. People in your discovery feed see your public profile (name, age, gender, photos, bio, interests, basics you added, city, approximate distance). If you turn on private photos, your photos are left out of discovery, likes and Duo listings until you match (links to photos someone already saw before you turned it on may keep working); if you turn on incognito, only people you have liked can see you. Your matches can also see your messages to them.
• Duos. If you team up with a friend as a Duo, other pairs see both your public profiles side by side, your friend sees which pairs your Duo liked, and everyone in a Duo chat (up to four people) sees the messages sent there. Your solo likes, solo chats and private settings (including the one-night-stand setting, which is never used in Duos) stay private. Leaving a Duo or a Duo chat is always one tap.
• Service providers. We use Google Firebase (Google LLC) for authentication, database, file storage, cloud functions, hosting and push notifications, Razorpay Software Private Limited to process Paire Plus payments on our website (it receives your payment details directly; we store only the order and payment IDs, plan, amount and status), Google Play for in-app purchases, and, where enabled, Anthropic PBC and Google LLC (Vertex AI) for Paire AI features and chat safety checks. Data may be processed outside India under these providers' security and data processing terms.
• Advertising measurement. When we run ads, our website and web app may use the Meta Pixel (Meta Platforms) to measure them: it receives the pages you visit on our site and whether you signed up or bought a pass (with the amount), along with technical data such as your browser and IP address. It never receives your profile, photos, messages, matches or preferences. You can limit ad tracking in your browser or in your Meta ad settings.
• Legal and safety. We may disclose data when required by law, to respond to lawful requests from authorities, or to protect the safety of members and the public.

We do not sell your personal data and do not show third-party ads.

4. Your choices and rights

• Edit your profile, photos and preferences at any time in the app.
• Turn location sharing and notifications on or off in Settings.
• Hide your profile from discovery with the "Show me on Paire" setting.
• Delete your account in the app (Profile → Settings → Delete account) or as described on our account deletion page.
• Subject to applicable law, including India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you may request access to, correction of, or erasure of your personal data, withdraw consent, and nominate another person to exercise your rights. Email support@paire.in.

5. Retention

We keep your data while your account is active. When you delete your account we erase your profile, photos, private data, likes, matches and messages without undue delay (normally immediately, and within 30 days from backups). Reports about safety issues and moderation records may be kept for up to 3 years where needed to protect members, prevent abuse and meet legal obligations (including the 180-day retention required of intermediaries under India's IT Rules, 2021). Copies of messages flagged by our chat-safety check are deleted automatically after 12 months. Payment records (order and payment IDs, plan, amount, dates) are kept for 8 years after the payment, as Indian tax and accounting law requires, even if you delete your account.

6. Security

Data is encrypted in transit and at rest by our infrastructure provider. Access rules ensure that private data (email, date of birth, preferences, precise location) is readable only by you and our backend. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, so please use a strong, unique password.

7. Children

Paire is not intended for anyone under 18, and we delete accounts that we learn belong to minors.

8. Contact and Grievance Officer

In accordance with the Information Technology Act, 2000 and the rules made under it, our Grievance Officer is:

9. Changes

We will notify you in the app or by email before material changes to this policy take effect.
